After an Evangelism Explosion training, a Baptist church Pastor in Cibitoke, Nshimirimana Théogène and his team began visiting homes in the neighborhood of a previously closed church in Ruhwa, Cibitoke. The Gospel spread, people repented and believed, and a church reopened. They continue to train their congregation to know the Gospel and how to share.

"I would like to thank God for using Evangelism Explosion Burundi to equip us with the evangelism tools we needed so dearly, said Pastor Théogène. The training sessions have truly made a meaningful impact in our churches. In February 2023, Evangelism Explosion Burundi, in partnership with the Baptist Union of Burundi, trained leaders from Baptist churches in the Bujumbura area, including myself. Following the training, by God's grace, we gained the confidence to visit one of our churches in the Ruhwa area, which had been closed. We began evangelizing to members at their homes, encouraging them in their faith, and sharing the Good News with others. We praise God that, by the end of 2023, the church was reopened, and today it has grown to more than 60 members."
"We deeply understand Jesus’ command in Matthew 28 to go and make disciples of all nations, added Pastor Théogène. With God's help, we are committed to fulfilling this calling by sharing the Gospel both in our neighborhood and in challenging areas. In 2024, we planned to build a new church in Gatumba area and began evangelizing there, going door to door sharing the Good News of Jesus, and many people repented and put their faith in Jesus. The church had already acquired a land in the area, and they began services on December 7th, 2025. This shows how Evangelism training is contributing in church's growth.

We praise God for the tremendous work of spreading the Word of God and establishing churches in less accessible areas He is enabling his people to accomplish.
To Him be the Glory.
